In these troubled times, now more than ever, people are searching for a way to make sense of their lives and to re-ignite their lost feelings of hope.
Gather Your Thoughts
No matter what your faith or beliefs are, having a place where you can meet with like-minded people, share experiences and exchange views is invaluable to your mental health and well-being.
For many years, religious organisations have strived to fill this role by providing a safe space where people from all walks of life can gather for company, help and support, but people local to these premises may not be aware of the services they offer, which is why FASTSIGNS likes to work with these organisations, to help them make their presence felt.
Any religious establishment is essentially a gathering point, so making people aware of your location is critical to getting interaction with members of your community underway. An attractive post sign, informative walls signs and eye-catching banners are all great ways to get people’s attention and pique their interest.
Making a Connection.
Your premises can be used like a blank canvas to convey your messages to your visitors and to encourage them to connect. This church used a combination of colourful images and flat cut lettering to do exactly that. This effective use of multi–media is both eye-catching and acts as a means of visual communication.
Once you’ve got people’s attention, the next stage is to alert them to your events. Many places now host coffee mornings, jumble sales, times for silent prayer or just an opportunity to take that first step and pop along and meet new people. Mounted signs with poster cases, like the one pictured here, employed by the Pentecostal Church, are a fantastic way to keep people up to speed with up and coming events, changes to times of services and appeals for donations.
Home from Home.
Making your premises feel warm and welcoming, will help to achieve that sense of community and a home away from home. Wall graphics that interest and inspire people are just one of the ways that you can make your organisation feel all inclusive. Showing that you offer a child friendly place or somewhere where people can express their thought and ideas, will help to give people a feeling of freedom and support.
Lend a Guiding Hand.
Wadsley Parish Church
As well as being a sanctuary for the lost, religious organisations offer much needed social interaction for lonely people who may have lost their relatives or taken a wrong turn in life and find themselves alone. They also act as a means of reconnecting with society, for example, Wadsley Parish Church, host an alternative education provision called Salt.ed, which works with young people in secondary school who are at risk of exclusion or have become disengaged from education. Their aim is to give these students new hope, motivate them, provide them with GCSE support and to make them understand their own personal worth.
We recently produced and installed these wall sign trays to help direct people to their premises and we are happy to have worked with them. From small seeds, mighty oaks grow and Wadsley Church have, by supporting and encouraging these young students, put this process in motion. Here’s to working in collaboration for a better future for us all.
