St Mary’s Church Knighton, Leicester

St. Mary’s Church needed to create a modern looking Nativity Scene for their Christmas Tree Festival Weekend.

The Challenge

The idea initially was to form the figures as wooden blocks, but this would be expensive, and they would be heavy to move around, not to mention the health and safety issues involved having to display it in a public place.

The Solution

The nativity figures were produced using foamex and stands attached at a set angle to hold it upright and finally wrapped with various printed vinyl colours to represent the various nativity figures.

The Result

Quite a striking effect with colours representing the various nativity scene figures: Mary – Blue, Jesus – White, Joseph – Brown, Shepherds – Grey, Angel – Gold, Wise men - Red, purple & green.
