Oblong Furniture

Oblong are specialist suppliers of standard and bespoke furniture for clients within the commercial and leisure sectors. They help to design and install stunning interiors in spaces ranging from luxury restaurants to office building and reception areas.

The Challenge

We’ve helped Oblong to complete projects by providing signs and graphics as a part of their installations. Two such projects are 8 St Paul’s Street and Lateral; both are commercial office spaces in Leeds.

The Solution

Working within the parameters of both the designs and the buildings’ health and safety regulations, we created window and wall vinyl graphics and up-to-date directory signage for both projects. For the Lateral project, we also created a colour matched wall vinyl that joined on from the carpet installed by Oblong.

Speaking of both projects, Oblong’s Director, Paul Matthews, said:

‘The graphics were a crucial element of the St. Paul’s Street project, highlighting a small reception space overshadowed by the double-height and fully glazed location. FASTSIGNS® Leeds were invaluable, assisting in the selection of the right transparent vinyl in order to give the distinctive ‘8’ its dramatic sense of scale and vivid luminosity.

Visually striking both internally and externally, the vinyl helps to tie the whole scheme together. FASTSIGNS® Leeds were impressive throughout the project, displaying a high standard of production and fitting expertise, including co-ordinated way-finding signage throughout the building.

As part of the Lateral project, the striking flooring design was replicated on custom printed vinyl that travelled up the internal glazing to animate the large open atrium. The FASTSIGNS® Leeds team were very helpful, accurately transferring the complex carpet pattern on to custom printed vinyl to great effect.’
