Catching up with Andy: 2024 highlights

Author: FASTSIGNS® Leeds

From wrapping Headingley Stadium to installing our new laser engraver, it's been an exciting year at FASTSIGNS Leeds. We've helped businesses across Leeds and West Yorkshire make their statements in increasingly creative ways, taking on some of our biggest projects yet. We caught up with Andy Simpson, Director at FASTSIGNS Leeds, to hear his thoughts on the year's highlights and what's next for the team.

Reflecting on 2024, how has the year been for FASTSIGNS Leeds overall?

It's been a good year overall, with business strong in the second half of the year. We've had the opportunity to work on some really exciting projects with both new and returning customers.

What were some key highlights or standout moments of the year?

January started strong as we took on the challenge of wrapping the North Stand at Headingley for Leeds Rhinos and Leeds Building Society. In February, we had the opportunity to attend the FASTSIGNS convention in Orlando, which was fantastic for connecting with the wider FASTSIGNS community and staying up to date with industry developments.

The autumn months were particularly busy. September saw us printing and installing over 200 square metres of wall graphics for an office in Leeds, working alongside fit-out company Office Design and Projects. Then in October, we were back in Headingley, this time working with Design Tonic to wrap a cricket changing room.

Were there any particularly challenging projects this year? How did the team overcome them?

The Leeds Rhinos stadium wrap in January definitely stands out as one of our more challenging projects. These large-scale installations really put our skills and expertise to the test, but they're also the kind of projects that showcase what our team is capable of.

What trends or products were most popular with your customers this year?

We've noticed a shift in vehicle graphics this year. We've been doing more partial wraps, taking advantage of a new wrap vinyl that's come to market. It's given our customers more flexibility in how they approach their vehicle branding.

Are there any exciting new technologies FASTSIGNS Leeds adopted this year?

One of our biggest additions this year has been our commercial laser engraver. It's really expanded what we can offer our customers in terms of precision cutting and engraving across different materials.

Looking ahead to 2025, what are you most excited about?

We're really looking forward to continuing to explore the capabilities of our laser engraver. There's still so much potential there that we're excited to explore.

Do you anticipate any new trends or shifts in customer needs next year?

We're mindful that customers may be more cost-conscious next year with the increased costs imposed by the budget. We’re here to work with them to find options that both look great and fit their budget.

Are there any major projects or plans on the horizon for the business in 2025?

We may be looking to replace our flatbed printer next year, which would be a big investment in our capabilities. We're always looking at ways to enhance our service offering and stay at the forefront of signage technology.

Thanks Andy!

As we bid farewell to 2024, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the customers we've worked with this year. We're looking forward to helping more businesses make their statement in 2025.
