Everything You Need to Know About Wall Graphics

What are wall graphics?

Wall graphics are just that – graphics that you put on the wall, or any flat surface. They’re a hugely popular form of signage due to their versatility and are just as striking whether they’re used indoors or outdoors.

What’s particularly great about wall graphics is that they can be used to instantly transform walls into dynamic message boards with minimal hassle. It’s one of the main reasons why so many of our customers (and we) love them so much. The fact they aren’t a permanent fixture is an added bonus, making them perfect for timely messages - they’re a hugely effective way of getting your message across without the need for any messy or permanent paint jobs.

How are wall graphics produced?

Wall graphics are produced in a very similar way to the rest of the signs we produce here at FASTSIGNS Leeds. We start by talking to you about your ideas. Don’t worry if you don’t have any specific ideas in mind, that’s where our in-house team of designers come in and help turn what’s in your head into reality.

Equally, if you have a few different concepts in mind but aren’t too sure which one’s going to work the best, we can help you decide. It’s what we’ve been trained to do and have been doing for several years! If you have a design agency working on your graphics, we’re happy to work alongside them too.

Once you’ve decided on your design, we set to work on creating and printing the artwork. Most wall graphics are self-adhesive and are printed on premium self-adhesive vinyl. Depending on how many wall graphics you have, their dimensions, and the condition of the surface they’re being applied to, installation usually takes between two and four hours.

We can even use other sign materials to create 3D effects on walls, such as foam, PVC, wood, acrylic, and aluminium composite.

This involves carefully positioning and applying them to the wall, kiosk, reception desk, floor, hoarding, ceiling…. wherever you want them to go! The entire surface area is then wiped down to push out and flatten any bubbles (a bit like wallpapering), giving the wall graphic a smooth, clean finish.

What does the process involve?

We’re a full-service visual communications company, which means we can provide you with all the services you need to bring your wall graphics to life.

As a customer, you are assigned your very own project manager, who’s there to guide you through the entire process, from start to finish. They’ll discuss your requirements with you and, if required, work alongside our designers to help shape and refine your idea so that you achieve the best possible results.

Once you’ve decided upon your design, our designers will produce the artwork and email it to you for you to approve. We’ll also establish the dimensions, location of your wall graphic(s) and if there are any special requirements, such as finishes, involved.

If any amends need to be made, we’ll make them, and then once final approval has been given, it’s all systems go on printing the final design! We’ll also talk to you about installation. For instance, you may want to arrange for the installation yourself or have us take care of it, which does save a lot of time and hassle.

Before you know it, your wall graphics will be up for everybody to see, and you can sit back and reflect on how quick and easy the entire process has been.
