LEGO - Ferrari
Race Day Energy Built Brick by Brick
The Challenge
Entertainment giant ‘LEGO’ and prestige car brand ‘Ferrari, joined forces to celebrate the launch of the Daytona SP3 LEGO model and the Build and Race installation. The Windsor-based entertainment park, needed to immerse their visitors in the racing theme of the installation, which would bring smiles to the faces of ‘big’ and little kids alike.
The Solution
As Legoland Windsor’s incumbent supplier, FASTSIGNS® understood the assignment. Through the use of signs and graphics, they helped bring the race day atmosphere to life.
Starting at the building’s exterior, the customer wanted to create excitement as park visitors approached the installation. They required a 3D model car mounted to the building’s exterior. To create this, FASTSIGNS took inspiration from LEGO and decided to build the car layer by layer. Utilising our graphic design expertise, FASTSIGNS team members broke the graphic into layers. Once the design was approved and produced, the car was then assembled and installed in situ to create the 3D effect the client was after.
With flags being a key part of race-day paraphernalia, FASTSIGNS added flags, showcasing Lego characters in their racing attire to the building's exterior. Window graphics were also installed, showing elements of the Lego car parts, to help envelop the building in the race-themed design.
Internally, using a mix of foam boards, vinyl wall murals and window graphics, FASTSIGNS set the stage for the race-day theme. The internal signage provided overall theming as well as directional and instructional information that helped users get the most from their time in the Build and Race installation.
To help build anticipation for the actual Lego model of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 to be revealed, FASTSIGNS provided graphics to wrap a wooden box, which encased the car until it was fully revealed to guests on launch day.
The Result
The signage provided by FASTSIGNS helped deliver an attraction that had to uphold two world-renowned brands, create excitement and atmosphere for the installation’s users and deliver information that made the usable and enjoyable.
